80. Nathan EDSON (3) was born in 1739 in Bridgewater, Plymouth Co, Massachusetts. He died on Aug 16 1825 in Smithfield, Madison Co, New York. He was a 4351. He has reference number 150. 150. Nathan 5 Edson, first child of Nathan 4 Edson (#76) and Mary Sprague, born in 1739, Bridgewater, Mass., married there, Sept. 2, 1766, Mary Hall, born in 1740, probably at Raynham, Mass., daughter of Mrs. Anna (Griffin) Hall. He died Aug. 16, 1825, Smith-field, Madison Co., N. Y. She died Dec. 12, 1838, Stockbridge, N. Y Nathan Edson was the first settler of Stockbridge, Madison Co., coming there from New Hampshire in 1791. He was a farmer, and had operated mills on the Swift River at Petersham, Worcester Co., Mass., where his children were born. He served in the French and Indian War in 1756. He enlisted May 6, 1761, under Capt. Lem-uel Dunbar of Bridgewater, serving until Dec. 7. He served again in the same company, Mar. 23-Nov. 20, 1762. He was a Sergeant in the Revolutionary War, being a Minute Man at the Battle of Lexington, serving at the Battle of Bunker Hill, in the Siege of Boston, and on some later occasions.
George Thomas Edson (#150-267) published, in 1926, a 48-page book, "Nathan Edson and His Descendants, " which gives more detail in regard to his life. Much material in this chapter is from his book
He was married to Mary HALL on Sep 2 1766 in Bridgewater, Plymouth Co, Massachusetts.

81. Mary HALL died on Dec 12 1838 in Stockbridge, Madison Co, New York. She was born 0-___-1740 in Raynham, Bristol Co, Massachusetts. Children were:

child i. Anna EDSON was born on Nov 14 1767 in Petersham, Worcester Co, Massachusetts. She died on Mar 24 1852 in Charlotte Cntr, Chautauqua Co, New York. She was a 43511. She has reference number 150-1. She was a Doctor. There is no information as to children.

child iii. John EDSON was born on Feb 1 1771 in Petersham, Worcester Co, Massachusetts. He was a 43513. He has reference number 150-3. In 1791 John6 Edson was at "Cook's Corner", Madison Co., N.Y.
In 1800 he was in Oneida Co., N.Y. and in 1810 he was is Batavia, Genesee Co.,
New York. It is not known who most of the children shown in the Census records
were.

In Census w/dau under 10 & w. He died on Mar 20 1860 in Batavia, Genesee Co, New York. He was buried on Mar 20 1860 in LeRoy, Genesee Co, New York. He was a 43516. He has reference number 150-6. Barnabas 6 Edson (150-6) served as a Private in Capt. Buell's Company
in the 164th Regiment, N.Y. Militia, commanded by W. L. Churchill, for three
months, in the War of 1812, being honorably discharged in April, 1814, near
Lewiston, New York. He received 40 acres of bounty land. Farmer
